How to Connect Bluetooth Headphones to Any Device

5 min read  ·  Works on iPhone, Android, Windows, and Mac

Pairing Bluetooth headphones is usually quick — but when it doesn't work, it can be frustrating. Here's how to connect them to every type of device, plus what to do if they won't show up.

Connect to iPhone

1

Put your headphones in pairing mode

Usually this means holding the power button until the light flashes or you hear a pairing tone. Check your headphone's manual if unsure.

2

Go to Settings → Bluetooth on your iPhone

Make sure the Bluetooth toggle at the top is switched on (green).

3

Tap your headphones under Other Devices

They should appear in the list within a few seconds. Tap their name to connect.

Connect to Android

1

Put your headphones in pairing mode

Hold the power or pairing button until the indicator light flashes or you hear a beep.

2

Go to Settings → Connections → Bluetooth

The exact path may vary slightly by phone model, but Bluetooth is always in Settings.

3

Tap your headphones in the list, then tap Pair

They'll appear under Available Devices. Tap their name, then confirm pairing.

Connect to Windows PC

1

Put your headphones in pairing mode

Same as above — hold the pairing button until it flashes.

2

Open Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & other devices

Click the Start menu (Windows icon), then click the gear icon to open Settings.

3

Click Add Bluetooth or other device → Bluetooth

Windows will scan for nearby devices. Select your headphones from the list to connect.

Connect to Mac

1

Put your headphones in pairing mode

Hold the pairing button until the light flashes rapidly.

2

Click the Apple menu → System Settings → Bluetooth

On older Macs running macOS Monterey or earlier, this is called System Preferences.

3

Find your headphones in the list and click Connect

They should appear within a few seconds of being in pairing mode.
